Both New Zealand and Australia are perfect territory for a touring holiday by motorhome and this type of holiday offers many advantages over other touring options.

First and foremost is the flexibility – having travelled to the other side of the world, naturally you want to make the most of your time and travel at your own pace. Even the most meticulously pre-planned itinerary can’t take into account changing weather, surprise finds or the possibility of falling in love with a place and wanting to stay longer.

Driving a larger vehicle than you may be used to is no problem either. When you pick up the vehicle you will be given a full briefing and lots of support information. All Maui vehicles are expertly maintained and serviced and multiple depots in both New Zealand and Australia means that help, if needed, is a phone call away. Driving is on the left, the traffic is generally lighter than in the UK even in the cities and in rural areas, often you have the road to yourself.

Last but not least, with a motorhome, your accommodation travels with you and can add up to significant savings versus hotel accommodation. All the necessary cooking equipment and bed linen is provided and optional extras such as picnic tables and chairs, awnings, tent and even a satellite phone can be hired locally if required.

Conditions

• Minimum rental age is 21 years. Drivers over 75 must have a medical certificate stating there are fit to drive for the rental duration
• A full drivers license is required
• Hire is calculated on a per calendar day basis (irrespective of pick-up time)
• Minimum rental is 5 days for all Spirit 2 and 4WD vehicles, 7 days for Spirit 4 & 6 vehicles
• All one way hires are subject to minimum 7 day rentals and a one way rental charge fee
